about

This song was written in dedication to the story of Brian Wilson, well before the Smile album was recovered. I wrote this in 1996 while studying music at Berklee College of Music.

lyrics

Why'd they wipe the smile from you?
Nothin' better they could do
Decades passed, your orange crate stands
humbled man, I can hear your hands
Once you reached a higher plane
then we all forgot your name
who wrote the songs and reached the notes
who sold his soul for a man remote
pet noises and fine faces
wild times and strange California places

The group was founded by close friends and songwriters Michael Hayes and Andy Santospago. The two continue collaborating and hope to release a fourth album in 2016. ... more
